Default petition to open guildwars 1 pvp for free please

DEAR ANET
SINCE GUILDWARS 1 PVP community is basically dead, because of too many issues can't be described, can we just let the public to decide whether guildwars 1 pvp is still suitable for human being to play by opening PVP-ONLY for free, without any requirement to purchase a cd-key or cost, like free access to great temple of balthazar continent please?

thank you!

That would only encourage more people to sync HA/GvG with their "free" accounts... No way please :/

Agreed. Free PvP accounts will just encourage more rampant syncing. I would much more likely sign a petition to make GW 1 free to get an account if it also included closing pvp forever. All forms of it. HA, GVG, RA, Codex.

sync players appear when there are not enough players to play pvp, so the sync issue appears, if there are many proper players playing pvp the sync players will just lose to them easily.

I think you mean separating pvp and pve, which is kind of already the case now, "pvp-only content" just need be opened to the public for free with 0 price to see whether the majority of the Earth people think guildwars pvp is not suitable for human to play, there may be a good chance, the majority of the Internet people can revive guildwars 1 pvp.

might also want to tell you that this is a fan site...folks from anet may (or may not) even bother to read these (and they cant act upon them either----).

Your best bet is to write to them instead of posting on a fan forum.

Terrible idea. If you honestly think syncing will go away because pvp accounts are free so more people will pvp, you are sadly mistaken. There will be more JQ bots, more RA alts manipulating matches, more GvG syncs, and DEFINITELY more HA syncs. It will literally be impossible to find any real players in those formats anymore if they did that.

I think your intentions are good, I just know too many people in this game that would abuse the crap out of that, and thus drive real players away from the game entirely.

I think you place the wrong concern about the whole idea, which is mainly not liking the idea of human vs bot environment in a pvp section.

Bot was introduced in pvp as a short-cut to quicker party formation, which was part of the result of the root problem of the decrease in pvp population, increasing the general pvp population in the current situation of course will increase player bringing bot into the pvp environment, but that is another topic of whether pvp players like to vs bot or party with bots, however where in the current situation given in GW where heroes' henchment is allowed in pvp, and during the double fame bonus period, more human groups formation, bot in general do not seem to happen as much as in the non-double fame bonus period in the higher hierarchy of HA map say for example, or even FA OR JQ Maps during the double faction, where there is a spike increase in population of these areas, which makes these maps being played in the "correct way" of more human vs human.

it is a whole new theory of whether people like to play with bot more often or play with human more often in a open free of charge pvp-environment, and also having these maps being played more often, with lessor wait time due to increase in player base, making the already complicated pvp more appealing by removing/decreasing the barriers to entry to the players in general.

Why are you saying they can't be described? When the opportunity presents itself, I can spend hours on that, hehe.

As for the idea of making Guild Wars 1 free-of-charge, I'm mostly against that as it would turn the project entirely unprofitable for ArenaNet, and that'd eventually lead to 'no further updates'.

cant be described in a sense that there are too many reasonable suggestions leading to the demise of pvp, has pvp not yet broken and doesn't need to be fixed?

I only see the main broken part of pvp is not enough people playing, opening pvp only not even can make pvp publicity increase, fixing the problem of having not enough people and may even leading to people buying the pve content, and eventually leading them to gw2.

I think it is reasonable only opening parts of gw 1 which is the pvp for free not the pve, could aid the sales of pve content.

I also made a post in here http://www.reddit.com/r/GuildWars/co...r_free_please/

and there is a person argue I am quoting "However, there is one thing that's a good idea and that's opening up the future of GW to the community that plays it. I'm not sure how that would work since I have limited experience and knowledge in game management but anything would be better than the static "automation" that has our favourite game in a state of gradual decline."

wow..
it will become a "football management" kind of game but using skills instead of footballers..and

that will be a TOTAL DIFFERENT KIND game, cause you are not controlling a character to move, to attack, to use the skill by pressing the keyboard with the designed keys, but arranging the skills/builds only, to see whether the best skill combination.

opening the pvp for free, still maintain most of the game as it is at least.

pretty sure i'm speaking English, but you're not understanding what I am saying, so I wil try to say it in more detail.

no I do not want it opened up for free because then we will have endless bots running around.

PvP would be given an Instant action update. what this update would do is...

When there are not enough human players for ANY pvp game to start NPCs are added in equipped with everything human players use, skills, runes, ensignias, weapon mods. their skills/builds would be ones we use in those areas. and if a player leaves an NPC is added to your team, this NPC would act like a henchmen would.

that is a better way to revive PvP than just fighting bots and 2nd accounts that are only active to boost the main account through HA

Initially I thought you mean NPC by just making skills set for 8 bots vs 8 bots, then put them all in a map and let them fight, see which team of bots skill set win, etc, that is a new type of game,

anyhow, yours could be a good suggestion too, to use bot to fill in the gaps of the maps, so map skipping do not occur in HA, but for other kind of "pvp map" such as AB/JQ/FA, using bot with such wide on-point movement decision, do the bot require additional programming, so that they don't just running in circles with predicted movement?...

your argument identify some of the reasons why pvp players don't like to be around with bot in a pvp environment, cause it doesn't have that feeling of competitiveness with players vs bot, or high standard of consistency, if bots is programmed in a way that random errors do not occur like human do.

real proper PVP human do not have those, either they will just not play, or playing the game properly with "MISTAKE", and never playing like a perfectly programmed bot, for whom they can be find if the PVP side is opened for FREE.

furthermore, how many real players to start a team say for example in HA 1 and 7 henchman/heroes, and who set those skills, if a player left? <---I think this is one of the problems keep coming up about farming fame/title or syncing for points.

if players can see this, a lot of scrubs/newbie being farm by high elite rank players, it just like bots being farmed by normal pvp players...so, the ultimate problem doesn't lie on syncing or farming, at the end of the day, most of the "scrubs/newbie" do act like a bad bot, and a high elite rank player may just be acting similar to a perfect Mesmer interrupt bot, though it is questionable bot will increase in knowledge or keep improving/alter skill level/weaken within a match or a battle.

anyhow, real players do have great variance in skill level, and their level of playing will also vary in match, it just about managing human or managing bots.

human require more server resources, programming bots, require programming resource, but can bots be programmed acting like every different person on Earth?

the best example I can give you as to what I am talking about is a FPS called unreal tournament 2004...try out instant action/multiplayer. yeah you will know they are non player controlled but it'll be close enough with enough programming

will the bot be too strong for new player to comprehend or too weak to make people feel they are farming?

the bot problem that would come is the reason why it will not be made free.

because when I get into HA I don't to be paired up with a random team of second accounts and all they do is stand there, I actually want to play the damn match, Anet designed bots (npcs, henchmen what ever) would and could make it seem like i'm playing with players, try out Zaishen challenge...

BTW I make more then $10/hour buying the pvp access kit to make a pvp only account is nothing...even if you don't make more than $10/hr

----------

and bot running is a bannable offence
